There aren’t many branded cloths with their own cult following. Harris Tweed from the Outer Hebrides is one, revered for its rustic, handwoven charm. Airy, open-weave wool Fresco is another, offering hot weather breathability for over a century. Perhaps the most distinctive of these connoisseur’s cloths is Solaro — a wool twill originally designed for military service but long beloved for its unique elegance.
We sit down with author, style icon, adventurer, and the man behind WM Brown, Matt Hranek to talk about his second collaboration with us — the Negroni Dressing Gown, made in an exclusive Fox Brothers flannel created by Hranek himself. The gown is cut in the same unique "Travel Gown" block that he designed for his first collaboration with us, which has a shorter length, slimmer cuffs and a useful inside pocket.
The second instalment in our Art of Craft series is a visual diary of our visit to the heritage silk mill that creates much of the jacquard silk used in our dressing gowns. Here we explore the finer details and intricate spectacles surrounding cloth weaving.
